Proper breathing in and out through the body forces you to take deeper breaths at a slower pace. This kind of breathing pattern stimulates the lower lung to distribute greater amounts of oxygen throughout the entire body—and that’s when the mental and emotional benefits really kick in.

In through the nose, out through the mouth: GROUNDING
An ideal breath pattern for everyday life, breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth supports your body to maintain steady breath control. When you inhale air through the nose, it passes through the nasal mucosa, which invites fresh oxygen to your brain and stimulates mental clarity and focus. When you exhale out through your mouth, it releases bodily tension and grounds you in the present moment.

In through the nose, out through the nose: STIMULATING
Also known as the “breath of fire” this technique helps build heat in the body and charge your energy from the inside out. Activate this breath as an internal fuel to ignite your sense of power and motivation.

In through the mouth, out through the mouth: CLEARING
This breath causes swirling, tornado-like energy inside of your chest and heart region, which may feel a bit chaotic. However, this specific breath pattern helps clear dense energy, create space within your body, and transform your energy from the inside out.
