Have you ever wondered how your workout is affecting your brain?

Convincing neuroscience research shows that physical activity not only enhances mental health and wellness today, but also enhances memory function and protects the brain from aging and cognitive decline in the future.

KINRGY knows through experience that our movement practice makes you feel uplifted and energized within your body, mind and energy, but when we heard there was a scientific way to test it, we were all in! Read on to see what neuroscientist, Wendy Suzuki, learned using her research method, BrainBody to measure KINRGY’s impact on the brain.

What is BrainBody?

Dr. Wendy Suzuki, Professor of Neural Science and Psychology at New York University has created BrainBody, an AI-based platform that quantifies exercise-enhanced brain functions.

By taking a 2-minute brain assessment before and after you workout, you get immediate feedback in the form of a BrainBody score telling you exactly how much that workout impacted your brain functions.  The machine learning algorithms provide detailed and personalized exercise recommendations that help users maximize brain health, performance and wellness and protect the brain from aging and neurodegenerative disease states in the future.

Because of an exciting pilot program between KINRGY and BrainBody that took place during the summer and early fall of 2020, we now know how KINRGY workouts affect the brain…

The Results

26 KINRGYSTS took part in this exclusive pilot program

100+ data points were gathered

100% of KINRGY workouts resulted in significant brain improvements on at least one of the following measures: energy, focus and attention, anxiety, depression and hostility.

Top 3 Brain Responses:

93% of KINRGY workouts showed decreased Anxiety

92% of KINRGY workouts showed decreased Depression

92% of KINRGY workouts showed increased Energy

Example BrainBody Findings From One KINRGYST Participant:

These graphs show the effects of 3 different KINRGY sessions on mood/mental health measures on the left and cognitive measures (Attention and focus) on the right. This KINRGYST showed very consistent and broad brain improvements across both the mood/mental health measures and cognitive measures. While 100% of KINRGYSTS showed brain improvements, the patterns of those improvements were unique to individuals.

Conclusions

  • These findings were robust.

  • KINRGY is improving both mood/mental health as well as cognitive functions.

  • Individuals showed unique exercise effects on the brain emphasizing certain improvements and not others.

Future Directions

BrainBody is excited to continue tailoring this program to KINRGYSTS who want to maximize the effects of their KINRGY workouts on their brain!
